While I agree with you to a point, Kelwo, the whole point to a vivarium is that you don't have to clean it like you would a tank with artificials and whatnot. The whole system is setup up like a tiny piece of nature, the waste breaks down to feed the plants. Mind, this might make keeping mites away a bit more of a problem... And of course dirt is going to get very dirty, lol... It's dirt! (just being funny, friend, not making fun of you.)
