Those little gaps i had them to, i just took slivers of eggcrate maybe 2 or 3 boxes wide and put it in behind the other pices then ziptied it and a little bit of silicone, cause once you put stuff on those angle pieces you wont even see the 'cutting & pasting' of eggcrate.
I wouldnt even silicone the legs to the tank, after you get everything on there it will be heavy enough that the platform wont move, although your choice, it wouldnt hurt to.
