the reason i referenced yours is because they were good answers but wanted to provide a counterpoint to your argument. as i said i agree with most of what you said. except on the plant pot which i still think will be fine.

he is likely to hide in or around it.
the one reservation i have about the set up is the ammount of time that the frog is going to be in there, it's going to out grow it pretty quick and then it will need deeper water and more space.

in my experience horned frogs don't tend to move about much at all other than if you put a new plant in they dig it up or sit on it.
and when you give them water they go in the middle and take a dump almost instantly.
