I didn't see any waterspots in your pic so I'm not sure what you mean. Did you mean water spots are forming on the inside glass?
I get water spots on my glass covers. What I do is just remove the glass every 2 weeks or so and rinse them with hot water then dry them. That's enough to get them clean again. If I'd let it go for longer than that I think it might be harder to get them clean though.
Like I said before even though I'm not sure what you mean, my suggestion is to buy an aquarium algae cleaner magnet and wipe it across often enough to keep it clean?
