GE type two has been used by MANY with no problems, just be SURE that it is cured before adding animals. I buy mine from Home Depot, that was the only place I could find black. If they do not have any in stock, they should be able to order some for you. Buy more than you think you'll need. I just did a 20g long background, with silicone only on top of the GS, and it took a tube and a half. There are other colors, just make sure it is something that will contrast with the GS so you can see any spots you miss. You can use GE type I if you want, I did the first time I did a BG, but it smell MUCH MUCH MUCH worse, and the GE II is fine. I actually got BETTER coverage with the type II. Check Lowe's as well. Maybe an Ace Hardware if you have one. Any place that sells bathroom stuff should have it.
