I think the best thing to remember is that nature is very random, and never perfect.

What size tank are you dealing with?

I am working on my 2nd terrarium ever, after building the first one with little to NO knowledge of what I was doing. I think it's coming along rather nicely. I got all of my influence as far as looks and design from searching Google Images for the terms "terrarium" "vivarium" "paludarium"... just flip through pictures and get ideas. Save copies of the things that you like, and figure out how to incorporate them into your own little piece of the jungle.
