25 gallons is a lot for fire belly newts. especially if it is longer more than tall. The best way i have seen these tanks set up is semi aquatic. look up paladariums and try for that. they dont really need a filter but a pump to keep the water moving is probably more than you need. lots of rock and cork wood floats to make a cool swamp effect. live java moss helps keep the water clean. i used to stress out about feeding them bloodworms but after working at the pet store i found that its easier to just let the bloodworms breed in the gravel and get the newts fat and happy and just clean the tank once every couple months. good luck

Cool

i hav 3 fire bellys in a 73 cm wide tank with a shallow 11 cm water hight. I hav sand as a substrait with a big lump of wood and big rocks for land areas. My advice is try and keep the tempreture low (22 celseies) and becareful what ornements you use dont use items that are to sharp because they might damage youre newts delicate skin.Tell me if it all works out
