Default 29 gallon Planted Musk Turtle Paludarium Journal

There's a new blog entry added:

29 gallon Planted Musk Turtle Paludarium Journal

Figured this was as good a place as any to keep track of my endeavor. I have gathered some materials at this point and am still in the planning stages. I am working with a 29 gallon tank with a reptile hood consisting of 2 20 watts no bulbs and 2 incandescent sockets which will have screw in compact fluorescent bulbs for a total of 90 watts. I have 40 lbs of ecocomplete for substrate and have collected bark from a dead tree in my yard for the background.

I have found ways around legalitys (ahh loop holes!) and will eventualy own a turtle. I realy want a black knob sawback but due to cost I will probably get a lutle stink pot (musk) or a southern painted. I just want to waight untill I can do it right. I want atleast a 55 gallon tank and want to use a magnum 350 canister conected to undergravel filter plates. it will cost more up front but set up properly this system makes it so you only have to change water and do heavy maintenance 1 or 2 times a year.
