thanks!

i am feeding him on 2 - 2.5 inch locusts, wax worms and crickets. i dust with calypso calcium and repton vitamin supplyment. he is watered by spray and dripper twice a day, morning and night

at the moment he is in a 38 gallon which is 16.5x16.5x30 inch... he will end up in a 100 gallon which is 30x16.5x48 inch... bigger is better though.

are you thinking of getting one?

o ya, i have been thinking of getting a veiled for about a year. just trying to get all the know how down so any pointers u can give would be great

i have only had him for about 2 months now, but like you done a good amount of research first... here are some links i find helpfull..

there are also some good books, i have read, Chameleons natures hidden jewels, The chameleon handbook and Chameleons in captivity. you can get them all from amazon...

Females lay eggs all the time, even if they haven't been bred. It stresses their bodies, and it definitely stresses the keeper.

well IMO it is really up to the keeper as females are just as manageable as a male...

females are friendlier, and as long as you keep an egg laying site in the viv when she is gravid they do fine. does not harm them as it is a normaly thing for them, they cope in the wild...

The eggs are only part of the problem though, you have to worry about calcium deficiency all the time because she is constantly producing eggs. You also have to worry about her being eggbound. Females also tend to have a shorter life, due to the amount of stress of always laying eggs.
IMO a female is a lot more work than a male, and the don't look anywhere as nice as a male, But you are right, it is ultimately up to the keeper...
