Hey there.
Is it important to apply silicone to the glass before applying great stuff ?
And the silicone I've seen has a mold inhibator in it, will this be toxic ?

Thanks in advance

Applying the silicone to the glass before the great stuff is really only for asthetics. It does look better, however it is unnessesary. Use GE silicone II (black).

I believe Marty has posted that on some of his tanks with no silicone the GS has begun to peel away from the glass.

I'm assuming that the mold inhibator in the silicone will not harm anything ?

Sorry, going to have a bunch of questions as I get ready to put the 55 together, right now I'm trying to do all my homework first..

I think i have read in places that mold inhibator is bad. I'm not sure though, try googling it? I would have thought though if it would be covered in a layer of expanding foam the animals wouldn't reach it therefofre it wouldn't be harmful.

Thanks Matt, but after surfing the forums here I've seen a post that stated that the mold inhibitor has always been in the silicone, but only now put on the lable.. I'll do some more checking..
