Default patching areas

i found i need to patch some areas around the top of my viv.i already have plants in the tank.i want to use greatstuff an cover with peat.will the cureing vapors harm plants.

I've done that too recently. Plants don't mind it (although I left the lid off when I was doing it). Just make sure your animals are out. Shouldn't be a problem.

did you press peat into foam as it was cureing?or did you let foam cure an cover with silicone an the add peat?

I've let the foam cure and then smear silicone to bond the peat. If you try putting the peat directly on the foam, it will get really messy, with patchy results.

You can also try to do what I did.

I mixed dirt mix with weldbond glue (75%/25% glue to water) mixed it all up and applied it to the foam. Works well, but needs to dry for a while

i settled on puttig on a layer of silicon on the foam an pressed peat into worked well.i also used this method where my panels fit togather.
