Default black silicone

i just bought 2 tubes of black GE-2 silicone.it's for windows & doors it sayes cured seal is mold & mildew resistant.also it's 100% silicone an (bioseal with con) whatever this means.is this stuff SAFE for a viv.

"the mold and midew resistant" might be the problem for the frogs. but if you get black without the mold resistant it should be ok, at least from what i have read.

can't find anything in black or clear without the mold an mildew stuff.except the aqurim kind.an that would be about 6-8 tubes at 4.95$ at tube

there are some debates among other boards, but the general consensus is that the GEII with bioseal is safe. if you call GE they tell you it is the same stuff theyve always sold. they just put the bioseal label on there now to try and spread customer base.

im using the exact stuff you are tlaking about Ray and i havent had any problems from it. i know of other people using it with their frogs breeding and tadpoles devloping normally so im on the side of it being fine.

I would recommend aquairum sealant if your not 100% sure on the GE brand you dont want to add toxins to the water . Aquairum sealent is designed for this in mind.

is there a brown aquarium sealant? or do you know where we can get black at least? clear doesnt work out too good with peat over it, IME.
