We are talking about flightless fruit flies, right? How easy are darts to feed? Is it something I could teach students (around age 8 and 9), or is it better for an adult to take care of it?

flightless yes of course lol. you could teach students. they must wash their hands etc to do so. they are dusted with a 1:1 ratio of herpivite and repcal suppliments. i use a huge funnel...like the ones for car oil and put it over an empty fruit fly cup. add the suppliments...makes them so they cant crawl up the sides too....swirl....and feed(dump) into the viv. viv must be ff proof. kristy

Sounds cool, still not sure yet. I'm gonna let my viv settle in for a while and let the plants grow...once I get it done. I have family visiting this week, so not much is happening right now. Next week is my last week before I go back to work, so hopefully I will use the "down time" that I planned to work on it. Thanks so much for all the info! I will definately call on you again if I have any questions. My name is Valerie by the way.

well its nie to meet you valerie. if you ever need in depth info about darts ou can email me at boukrismeyers@msn.com it helps to know from someone with personal experience....i help people all the time, whether they are customers or not. Because if it were me, i'd wish for the same thing. you do unto others what others do unto you right? kristy getting a viv built right now so i'll [post a pic of it newly planted...will be spars for a few months until the plants grow in though, but it has a water fall/drip wall some ledges and some caves...not neessarily needed but nice for the darts. darts can breed and live healthy lives in the simplest of vivs as long as the humidity is high enough and fed properly. here to help anytime! kristy
