Post Glass vs. Acrylic Enclosures

Hey guys, I've had two dumpys for 2 years and just recentley found a great interest in building them something special. Me and a friend went out today and tried getting a price for things like a water system, substrate, aquatic plants, and lighting.

I decided to build a tank from scratch since their prices where rediculouse. I am only stuck on what material to go with. I am leaning twards acrylic because it is easier to drill holes into for watering systems and misters.

Thanks for reading, any general advice on tank developement would be very handy!
