well, how big is the newt and how big are the crickets? an animal will eat anything they can fit in their head. Newts are small. Crickets can be purchased tiny, but only in large lots and they don't stay that way very long.

I just feed some crickets to my newts,a week ago.Since that when i look in my viv i always see some crickets walking around. Looks like they dont like them or they not quick enough to catch them.The sice is not the proplem i use to feed them worms far biger than the crickets.
