Default vivarium help for albino pacmans

Hi from Mississippi!

I have 4 FBTs, 2 albino pacmans (or is it pacmen???), and 1 green pacman.

I have books and such that got me started on caring for my toads, but I've found there's no substitute for experience.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Welcome to the forum. 1st, I would suggest searching the forums and reading up on previous post. As well look at the galleries for ideas. You have an apperant base of knowledge about caring for you pacman frogs which is good. Now just need to find out what kind of help are you needing? What size tank? Any details might help point you in the right direction. Again welcome and hope you find what you need.

Thanks!

I am currently looking for ways to make my albino pacman toads as happy as a pacman toad can be.

They are each in their own 10g tank. I would like to make their habitats as natural as possible, but I don't want to give the crickets too many places to hide. Any suggestions?

Lighting is a particular concern. I have posted a thread in the Toad forum.

Thanks!

I'll post pictures very soon.

Right now, I'm in the middle of switching to a new brand of substrate. The local pet store just started carrying Fluker's Repta-Bed. It looks less mulchy than my old brand.

I've been using a large Exo Terra feeding dish as a water dish for my toads. I think it's made of resin. I've noticed it tends to get slippery very quickly, and this presents a problem when my guys try to get a good grip so they can get out of the water. Is there another kind of dish I should be using?

Your could try adding a rock in the dish to help with leverage.

I'll try that.

What about a natural sponge? Would it work to cut one to the size and shape needed as long as I clean it everyday?

I put a sponge in each water bowl two days ago. It seems to be working well enough for now, but it's kind of a pain to keep clean.

It gives my frogs some traction to work with, so that they can get out of their bowls more easily.

I've been cleaning the sponges daily with scalding hot water to kill any bacteria inside. When I place it back in the water bowl, I have to roll a rock over the top of it to get the air bubbles out so that it won't float on top of the water.
