Default park pond water

hey i got a tadpole from centerparks in the uk and the waters got dirty now so i went to my local park and got some water put it in the tank and found there was thousands of little white insects in the water is this ok ?

I wouldn't take the chance if i were you, you never know what bacteria or germs you might be bringing in!!!

Im sure he ment he would not take the chance.
You really have to watch out for any big bugs in the water. Many love to hunt and eat tadpoles. The really small ones arent going to kill you tadpole. There could always be some sort of bacteria or disease in the water, but it sounds like your tadpole was living in those conditions before anyway. I would only worry about tadpole eating bugs. Make sure there aren't any.

well the water i got him in didnt have these critters in but wen i got some water from the park the bottles where full of them litterly i didnt get him from this pond any one knw wot they cud be they are tiny and white oh and now hes got his back legs wot shud i do put a rock in so he can sit on it ? i will also post a pic so i can find out wot he is its all black nothing special and i live in the uk so nothing special again lol

yes he will need a way to climb out of the water if he wants to. The little white things could be one of many water bug larvae

It could be a Dendrobates auratus. I've hear rumors that those are now being found in the UK in one of the botanical gardens.

i have been looking over all the info on the net for the U and the only thing that i think it could be is "water lice' as they call it. i have to read up on it some more.

ok well i got some tap water and put it in to bottles and left it on the window sill for 2 days now will it be ok to change its water i really dont like the look of these things thanks for all the help

Is there any way you could get apicture of the little white things, i would love to get a look at them so i can positively identify thm and learn a little myself.
