the tank is a total of 20 in tall, but with the false bottom and substrate there's probably about 16 inches of air space. i actually have two species of alocasia in there, the "black velvet" and the "polly". the black velvet is some what low growing for an alocasia. it has stayed about the same height for the past eight months. the polly grows very tall, i take them out when they get too big and a new shoot pops up soon after.
i'm using pc lights on that tank, its the only way to maintain good color. the plant with the red leaves is a fittonia hybrid
