Default Hmm, now what!?

Well, I finally bought into the hobby. I got a 29 gal tank with all the tricks to house a Skunk(white-lined) gecko. Hes a big boy for a skunky, and eats like a champ! I Adopted him from a PetCo for free and hes doing great. ive had him since christmas 07 and now i feel like putting some real plants in the tank and hooking up a humidifier since work gets in the way of me staying religious to spraying down the tank 3-4 times a day. So uh....what plants are good for terrariums? I'm thinking of ferns and mosses since they like high moisture and can handle low lighting. Any thoughts or comments?

Pothos plants are always a really good choice. They do just fine in moist and dark environments. They also vine and leaf out quite well, so you're tank will have plenty of hiding places for your gecko in no time at all.

You can get a big tangle of them at any greenhouse or garden center. Wal-Mart has them for $7.00 or something.

Ferns look nice, but with a big healthy gecko, they are probably going to get mashed pretty quickly. Just something to think about.

Go to Mahoney's in Winchester and look in the tropicals section. There's a lot of good stuff there, for example, dracaena and crotons. I find that ferns and mosses are not as easy as you would think unless you can provide the lighting that they need.

I noticed that Lowe's has young/small pothos for around $3. I got some for my treefrog and they work very well in humid environments. Theyre very hardy!

I too would suggest a Pathos or two. They take off like crazy! Bromliads are also a nice plant. Easy to take care of, and can be mounted anywhere....
