Default Newbie Crested Gecko

I would like to know if a 12" x 12" x 18" (WxDxH) Exo Terrarium would be suitable for one adult CG. Another option would be a tall hex glass aquarium but I am thinking this would be harder to clean and maintain a good temp balance. Any input is welcome.

I would go with something taller that still has enough floor room. These guys tend to use both levels. I would go with at least a 20 gallon tall aquarium. However, I tend to think more room is better, personally I would go with a 30 or bigger. As far as temperature with the right light you should be fine however, you could use a small computer fan to push the heat downward (if needed in colder months). Just remember that CGs prefer temperatures between 75-80F during the day and the low 70's or even high 60's at night.

12*12*18 is enought for one individual.

Make sure you reach 70-80% humidity tought.

As for temps, room temperature is good enought. Be wary of hot days as crested don't take heat very well.

So tank size & temps are understood, thanks for the excellent help. Heres another angle on my substrate from my earlier posting. I was thinking about adding live plants: ficus/pothos/schefflera. For substrate would half black regular top soil mixed with Miracle Grow Organic potting soil would work. The idea is to turn over the substrate say ever week with just a fork to mix the poop, the plants would use this as fert and voila easy self maintaing environment. The only issue would be watering the roots of each plant so i don't make a muddy mess, no sure if small pebbles in the bottom first with window screen then the soil mixture would be better. The live plants would also help with humidity levels. Any thoughts.
