I have a beautifull crested gecko fire morph with a nice terraruim. My question is what is the best way to clean and sanitize the cage? I have a benjamen ficus and a small palm plant in seperate clay pots, a whole buch of bamboo sticks, a massive piece of drift wood, a 30 gallon zoo med glass terrarium and i am using paper towl as substrate. So far i have just been firing up some boiling water. do you have any other suggestions.

Is there a specific reason you want to clean ie; disease? I might go ahead and soak then bake the wood and clay pots to kill any bugs, fungus, or bateria. Remove the plants from the pots and clean the roots, under tepid water soak and remove old dirt. Repot using new materials. take the tank and rinse with water use a 5-10% bleach solution and rerinse.

I just want to make sure my crested does not get any diseases and also a good easy way to clean without having any chemicals affect the animal. also how do i make that 5-10 percent bleach solution, i have heard of it before but was too worried it would hurt the gecko.

well the best thing to do is spot cleaning and then doing a big cleaning once in a while. You can buy all natural cleaning spray(for reptiles) at pet stores. Also another thing you can do is make it a natural vivarium with substrate and live plants so waste can naturally break down.

5-10% bleach solution means bleach diluted in water. for example 10 % would mean that 10% of the solution is bleach and 90% water.

I would do same as what sinflspeed said in case of a disease breaking out ot mites or something like that.
