Question on the fence.

Well I have a delima. I finaly have a Leopaerd Gecko again and he is doing great. I realy forgot how much I enjoy them. My delima is I want to get him a girlfriend or 2 and put them in a bigger tank but im not shure if I should buy a new tank or use my 55 I curently have fish in. My problem is I like my fish they are beautiful. but I am not suposed to have them, my appartments say no to fish tanks. So they are hidden in my bedroom. This was great at fist couse i would watch them as I fell asleep. However I sllep during the day and the lights bother me some times plus I am proud of my tank and no one gets to see it. so it just sits in the back room hidden and unenjoyed. My fish are nice and they are exspensive for fresh water fish. Eel and catfishes what do you guys think?

I'd say ditch the fish and make yourself a gecko setup that you'll be proud to show off. No more looking under your bed to enjoy your fish tank

This may not help you decide, but with fish you can switch their night/day cycles so the light doesn't bother you. Of course if there's too much ambient light in the room it could be a problem, but if you've got it pretty well shaded back there, you could slowly-- like over the course of a couple of weeks or so-- have them completely nocturnal. My cichlids in the living room don't "wake up" until 11:30AM and don't "go to sleep" until 11:30PM so that I can enjoy them in the evenings before I go to bed. There's ambient light in the mornings, but not much because of the shape of the building and the direction the windows face. (But my bedroom tank is always off by 10PM in case I want to tuck in early.) Good luck with your dilemma.
