Default Peanut before & after molt

Just a couple of pics. Her molt went quite well this time with no remains on any toes or her tail tip.

For those unfamilar w/ gecko molts, this dusty appearance isn't the result of the camera or flash, it's actually the way she looked.

Now here she is after molting -- back to her normal dark coloration.

Does her skin stay in one piece or does she scratch it off and it ends up in many pieces??

Thats very cool! Thanks for posting!

Her skin seems to come off mainly in large sections. Hard to be sure since I've never actually seen her molt and since she usually eats the skin after molting.

She eats it too. I was wondering but I thought only frogs did that becuase the skin would be smoother.

geckos eat their skin for a good source of vitamins. im not sure if frog molts have the same benefit, but i assume they would (tons of marine inverts use their skin for protien and iodine). ive seen my geckos (and anoles) molt many times. usually it comes off in sections, but it really depends on relative humidity. aslo, the sections easily accesible by the mouht are usually the first to come off, for obvious reasons....
