Water Spot Problem

Thanks Green Ghost, I'll try that next time which looks like it'll be pretty soon. Before I posted this question I did take a paper towel and put a small amount of CLR on it. Next I wiped the water spots above the water line with the paper towel being careful not to contact the water line with the towel or any drippage. After that I wiped the area with a wet paper towel to remove any leftover residue again being careful not to contact the water level or drip into the water. This worked really well but I'm just not comfortable using any kind of chemical around the frog. Next time I'll try the same procedure with some lemon juice or vinegar. That is if the razor blade trick doesn't work. So far the frog seems fine. Leopard frogs are a pretty hardy amphib and I was very careful not to get anything into the water and removed any residue from the inside of the glass afterwards.

Not an attempt to tell you what to do, but I would never even have tried the CLR. I don't know how toxic that would be to the frog but I wouldn't take the chance just for the tank's esthetic's sake. Seems to me that even if you think you've wiped it well, there will always be some small residue left on the glass and leopard frogs are pretty much "one with the water". Meaning whatever is in your water is in them too. I keep leopard frogs and green frogs too.
