Hello,my name is Kyle. I live in Oklahoma. I recently bought a 55 gallon aquarium setup from a friend. I've decided to make it into a Terrarium or Vivarium. I found this site and it has alot of useful information.

I'm going for a woodland/water setup with the a pool of water in the middle. I've got a Tetra Whisper Internal pump cleaning the pool. I've planted some starter Sphagum moss I got from petco on both sides. I've been misting them daily. What would be some good frogs/newts for this setup. Also could I mix frogs/newts/salamanders together? Thanks for your help.

The general advice you are going to get about mixing is: NEVER, it is better safe than sorry. My advice is: until you have alot of experience with the compatible species you want to mix, DON'T do it. Too many factors that you aren't going to be experienced enough to deal with for a while. I have been lucky with my mixed tank, but if I had to go back and do it again, I'm not sure if I would mix them (or at least not all of them). I'd need a pic of the setup to give you advice on what needs to go in it, do you have one?

Sorry for taking so long to get back with ya. been working 16 hour days

I dont have a picture atm,but I managed to get some Java Moss from the local petstore. The lady practically shoved a giant ball into my hands and begged me to take some. She's been feeding it to her rodents/rabbits.

I spread some across the coco fiber and placed some into the water area as well to help it grow. I've been misting it at least twice daily if not more. it appears to be growing well. I've decided on some fire bellied toads to start out with. It seems they are a good starter toad. I'll prolly get at least 3-4 as they seem to like company. I've got a 55 gallon tank,so Im sure they'll have plenty of space. I've also placed a few hide holes into the tank that I made in my pottery class. I've also put a few brances I found in the forest with some nice lichen and moss's on it for climbing spots and placed a few local bog plants into the tank. Once the moss covers a majority of the coco I'll get the frogs. Any Suggestions?
