lol Jason... Waterkeeper, that reef tank is AMAZING!!! My hubby wants to do one some day, it looks like there is SO much work involved!

I do agree that we should start with Vive of the month, and possibly herp of the month. I feel that these are general enough to accommodate the wide variety we have here. Now if only Athen would get it started, lol... Haven't heard from him in a while... Perhaps the Navy has him too busy...

What about a picture contest? The focus of the pic would have to be of your own animal/insect/etc. and you'd have like a week to take pictures, then at the end, submit the one you think is the best. Then people could vote on it, or the mods oculd be the judges.

eheh im sorry guys i have been a little scarce around the forum lately been dealing with work my wife is pregnant =) yup we got married on aug 9th at 9 PM 8/9/08/9:00 in vegas at a drive through chapel... the same one britney spears got married at i believe it was pretty kool we were gonna wait till i got out and do it back where im from but we decided to do it a little earlier so that she can try to get tricare. anyway ill try to be on as much as possible as far as the contest the most that i can do to really get it started is post a notice that we have decided what we are gonna be doing then have all people who have an entry email me so i can start a thread with a poll and the pics attached and let people vote away. as far as having the rewards ill have to see if i can get ahold of marty and see what i can do as far as that. are we decided on what we want to do with the reward ? i was thinking the winner gets a notice posting with the pic of their winning entry and some rep points does that sound good to everyone?

ok so i guess its decided we can do Herp of the month and viv of the month
ill get the notice posted the question is do we want to wait till next month to actually start it? or do we just want to do a small one giving until monday for entries and then till the end of the month for votes ? im leaning towards the latter

as far as i know amphibians still fit in under the Herp category ill do a bit of google research and get a definitive answer on that. and honestly that was a bit of concern to me not specifically about reptile/amphib but more for rep/amphib and insects there are a few people here who keep centipedes and cockroaches and spiders and the likes i suppose that we can call it Herp of the month but allow the people who have invertebrates to also join in

it is very true any suggestions for the title of this contest? possibly pet of the month? inhabitant of the month? also would we like a limit on the number of entries someone can put it? or can it be if someone has multiple species be able to put one of each or simply one entry per month i think one entry per month to allow for more entries later
