Ideas for contest

I suggest We Limit the Number of Entrants in Each Catergory to 3 Entries Max. Limited to 3 photos.

For Vivariums. I suggest a Full Tank shot, and two detail pictures.

The reason why is because the Majority of People don't have that many Vivariums or Creatures, If people with alot of either enter the Contest, then the Contest will be overwhelmed by a few People.. and it will become a battle of money...who ever can afford more has a better chance to win..

I also Suggest that the Winner each Month get a sticky Post, where they can post more Pictures of the Winning entry..

I also suggest that a Contest Forum is created if it hasn't already, so every entry will be consolidated in a single area, so we won't have to look in all catergories.

Also I suggest that we limit the Entries to pictures " Never entered" in a contest before, so that we don't see the same pictures over and over.

ok so are you saying each contest has a limit of 3 contestants or only 3 different pets/vivs and 3 pics of either respectively? i agree with the fact that some people have alot of vivs whereas some only have a couple thats a good point. as far as a sticky for the winners that is a great idea i also wanted to place an announcement with the winners name and their winning pictures that shows for the month an announce ment shows up in all subforums. and we do already have a contest thread but as is plainly obvious doesnt get very much notice and i think this will get it into the view a little more. as far as only entering photos never seen that may be a little hard to track especially with me being the only active moderator in the forum marty the site admin trys to help as much as he can with this forum but he has 2 other much more active forums than this that he runs and they take up alot of his time but if we can get this contest running well it should boost the active member base quite alot

the 3 photos per Entry was just a suggestion.

As for the photos being new per category, thats on more of an honor system agreed upon by the members than anactual "policed" policy

Hey I have an idea for a contest. I have some tads here. My suggestion for a contest would be to guess what species they are. For prizes maybe whatever the mods could give (like reputation points, etc...)

What if each member was limited to one entry per contest, with 3 pictures allowed but if they didn't win, they could enter the same pics in the next contest.

Wow, I thought I had kept up with this thread, but obviously not!!! Athen, did you actually decide on anything yet? I'm a mod now, so don't feel like you are totally alone in this.

I think herp of the month and vive of the month are great ideas. Entries for the next month should be submitted by the end of the previous month, and the voted on for ??? a week? what do you guys think? Then the winner would get a sticky that would last for a month, where they can tell about their vive or herp, and would also get rep points for a prize. If a sponsor of the site would like to make a prize available, that would be nice too. I think this would work well.
