lets get some ideas for a contest to get some more action going in this forum =) post your ideas here

is there noone who has any ideas for a contest? we are trying to get a good contest going and after we have an idea for a contest we are going to see if we can get a sponsor to support a prize for the winner this will be great for the forum and will hopefully bring more users here lets start tossing some ideas out there guys. we need to add a little excitement in here =)

You don't need to get too involved to have contests.A simple pic of the month and viv/palad/habitat of the month would do great,the winner would get reputation points or some other site related perc.member of the month is also a good one and would be on a nomination basis.If the administrators of this site wanted to they could also add ribbons and gifts to the mix as well.I am a member of an aquarium forum that does all that stuff and it is very popular with the members and it is an extremely active community.

Thats why they are asking for suggestions.

Community Involvement?

Why waste time trying something, when nobody is interested?
So Far only 2 of use have posted any ideas.
Based on that response I wouldn't bother to have a contest of any sort.

what I meant by "involved" did not refer to the level of "community involvement" I was using the term involved in place of complicated.Does that clear it up for ya

.To be totally honest,before we go for competitions around this site we need to work on starting some community pride in the site.This seems to be a good place to get info and if we want the existing members to get behind it as a social gathering place also there are going to have to be some cheerleaders.A very simple way to gage the feelings of the membership here is to post a poll,everyone likes to do polls.Ill be presumptuous and start one

Seriously if you want to do some kind of competition then more power to you. I haven't been silent because I'm not interested, it's just that so far I haven't thought up anything.

By contest we don't mean a competition, but rather something fun where everyone can admire each others photos and vote for the best ones. Here's what we've been doing at Orchidbaord as far as contests go... OB is my other forum. Contests & Polls - Orchid Board - Most Complete Orchid Forum on the web !

I posted a poll about this about 3 hrs ago.There have only been 2 voters so far.I think its not cared about,oh well.

The contests dont need to be anything spectacular thats why we are asking for suggestion to see what yall wanna do =) its very easy for me or marty to say there wil be a contest on the best vive... but if noone wants to do that there wont be any participation. so asking in advance what would you all like to do for a comp gives YOU and opportunity to be involved in it. get some ideas out there for the contest and i will start a poll to vote on it and the people will have chosen the contest which is the best way for it to happen right? yall are the ones participating in it so shouldnt you be the ones to choose it?
