Default Lighting and Humidty Questions

I am using a two 24in" aquarium hood lights that came with the aquarium setup. They are 120volts, 60hz, 19watts. I'm wondering if they are good for my plants?

Also I am able to keep my humidty very high if I close my front access lid on the light hood. I can get about 90% humidity with temperatures of 78F to 85F easy. To make it fall I open the front access lids or turn a light bar off to lower it alittle. Im wondering what's a good level for frogs or toads? I've not decided on what type of frog/toad I want. Can a High Humidity harm a frog or toad?

Thanks for your help.

You NEED to pick a frog or have a type in mind, as well as have the plants you would like to keep listed as well. Some plants thrive in high light conditions while others with wither just as some frogs only get diffused light roaming the forest floors while Tree frogs get more sull spectrum lighting being closer to the top and in more exposed areas. High humidity will kill off some frogs while others require readings in the mid 90's. Before you build get an idea of the type of animal you want to keep then pick the plants best suited for that type, only then can you work on lighting my friend, otherwise you will find yourself very limited on the types of herps you can aquire

If you're going to house FBTs then you should have a water section in the viv (making it a paludarium according to the definitions ) because FBTs do much better with a water section to swim in. Since they can swim in the water section, I'd say you couldn't get them much more humid than they'd be soaking wet so there'd be no need to worry about your humidity. If you wanted to keep FBTs but didn't want to make a water section then I'd suggest at least in the 80 - 85% range.

I've got a large water pool in the middle of the tank with a 30i Filter in the middle. I'll try and post some pictures tonight if my computer will let me. I just want to beable to provide a great habitat for my frogs.

Will t-5 or t-12 lighting hurt my frogs? My Plants are not doing that well and I really want them to thrive. I cant get moss to hardly grow because my lights are so low...I was looking at 6,000klevins to 10,000 klevins
