This is exactly what i was saying. I actually reread my post, and still wonder how it would be interpreted another way....

I see,How would you turn the Gs a different color, say brown or green?
Unless you find it in the wanted color (and i doubt green existe), you will probably want to paint it. But then, you have a lot of things to worry about like varnishing, water resistance, mold resistance, toxicity, etc...That is why most people use silicon+substrat to cover foam.
Ciment is also another option like said previously. But, personaly, i am not a fan.

The foam somes in a whitish/yellow color or in black but black costs more. Pretty much what you do is spray the foam out in a general shape and use a bread knife and/or razor blade and cut and carve it in to the shape you want. Then you use silicon and coat the foam after it is cured and smear the silicon all over the foam and while the silicon is still sticky you coat it with sand or coco fiber or coco bark or something like that to make it look more natural. Let the silicon cure for a couple days and you are good to go. You can use black or brown silicon so that any spots that the sand/fiber does not stick it still looks ok because the brown/black will show through. It may sound like it is hard to do but once you start you will see that it is not too bad. Make sure you have some rubber gloves and spray the foam out in thin layers and let each one setup an hour or so before adding the next. Here are a couple pictures of the foam for my water feature from the start to the finish so you can get an idea.
Can #1
Can #2 and general shape that still needs carved
After some carving
After coating with silicon and a sand/pebble mixture
With water
Full tank shot except for the water feature
Here is the link to my build if you want to read it over. It might help or it might not but feel free to ask any questions you have. It is my first one and I have learned a lot.
You can, however it is recommended that you spread a layer of silicon on the glass first. The GS does not stick to the glass very well long term but will stick to the silicon. The silicon will stick to the glass. So the silicon is sticking to the glass and the foam is sticking to the silicon. I did mine on the eggcrate because if the water feature fails, and it actually did, I can take the whole thing out of the tank easily and fix it and replace with little problem.
it also allows you to get the structure out of the terra for easier working. It is not absolute, but it makes your life easier.
very nice Nubster.

Meaning If I sprayed the gs on the glass wall about 10 inches off of the bottom, will it build up and create some sort of ledge? That's what I want to do with it if it works.
