Hi Future, we would really need more information to be able to help you. If you don't know about your frog or your tank then measure the L, W, H of your tank (in inches) and take pics of your frog.
In general, if he's eating (crickets?) then it's a good sign.
And i haven't seen him eat any crickets yet, its only been in about 2 hours since I've had crickets in there. Also, where I'm its 4:00pm. So I figured he might eat more at night since hes nocturnal.
Right now, I have dirt as substrate, with a assorted peices of bark (to big for him to eat/swallow). On one side I have a water dish, and a few (fake) plants/vines. I have some wood in there that has been cleaned. One side has a light , under the light has nothing but bark and dirt. So basically I have a hot area with not much in the area, and a cool area with a small water dish and plenty of plants for him to hide in.
Need plants over the entire tank... That tank sounds closer to a 5 gallon maybe? My 10G is roughly 20Lx10Wx12.5H. IMO, the tank you have him in is definitely not big enough, even for one frog, though it should be ok for a quarantine tank. Make sure you get him in something bigger as soon as possible.

For now, Is it alright if I use fake plants to cover the terrarium with?
Do you think a 20 gallon will be good for 2 tree frogs?
I plan on buying a 20 gallon and getting one more frog.
and honestly, I have enough for a 50 gallon tank right now. But I'm trying to be patient and waiting for a better deal.
I heard from someone on this forum that Petco has 1$ per gallon sales. If this is true, do you know anything about this? and if you do, is there anyway to know when they are?
Thanks in advance.
You could ask at the store about those sales, I didn't know they did anything like that myself. 50G tanks are expensive, I know... A 20G will be ok. I was just saying what I feel would be best for them. You might consider turning the 20G on end to give them more up and down room, which they need even more than side to side room. Just make sure when you get the new frog, you quarantine it for a week or two to make sure it is healthy before you put it in with the frog you already have. Fake plants are fine too, I just prefer real ones because of the benefits, plus I feel that it is much less maintenance with real plants. You can also mix fake plants with real ones, adding real plants as you are able to. I totally understand herping on a budget, lol... I do the same myself. One other thing to think about is that it is nearing the end of summer, and alot of places are clearing out their stock of plants, so now is a great time to find really good deals on plants. Don't be afraid to buy small plants either, because they will grow quickly in the conditions you will be providing for your frogs. Oh, and make sure you're having fun with it...

I think the PetCo $1 a gallon sale is over. It is usually at the end of August every year. You can ask to make sure. Also try craiglist for your area or ride around and check some local yard sales. Not sure your tank budget but a 29 gallon tank will cost you about $50 and if you turn it on its end like froggsong said it would work nicely.
