Thanks for the reply.

I was referring to which animal.

Also, Since you brang up bromeliads I have a question.

Where did you buy them? Do they normally sell them at local petcos?

And are they easy to care for?

I bought them from several different places. First thing tho, I don't know much about them. Just today I was told that the fireball brom (bought from brianstropicals.com) in the center of the tank should not be planted as is in soil, a fact I did not know so ill be researching that to make sure it doesn't wither and die. For the most part I thought, plant and water...

The plant in the top righthand corner I bought from a Petco off of one of those small terrarium shelves, I would advise against this unless the plant looks really good. Most of the time they are dying and not appealing at all, I would suggest a good place to start looking. Plant in the top lefthand corner is a home depot special, its meant to be put in potting soil (i think) so im okay for that little guy. One problem I have is that I neglected to keep a tab of what plant was what, ill retrace my steps one of these days so i can find out what i bought.

Here are some good resources for plants/frogs/broms you might like:

brianstropicals.com -good souce for pdfs, has a variety of plants (broms too) and a decent amount of info. Ive ordered from him and he is quick and offers some nice stuff.
carolina.com -bilogical co, almost everything and anything you could wanted for filler viv stuff.
nilesbio.com -another bio co, cali based if your in that area.
saurian.net -lots of goodies, plants and frogs. Also great info source for dart frog characteristics.
blackjungle.com -good supply of everything (broms)

There might have been more but that should keep you busy for some time if you have not visited those sites before. Any google search for terrarium plants should turn up broms(or brom like) here and there as well. I will be doing some googling myself trying to understand the care of these plants a little better.

Hey Fitzy nice tank, bud. I wouldn't mess with the finished viv for awhile if I were you. I'd leave it like it is and see how the plants grow out.

As for putting PDF's in there I wouldn't reccomend that. Reason is for the large water area. I really like the style of tank you made, though.

I wasn't sure what kind of lighting you have but if it works well for your plants I'd suggest researching aquatic plants. Thing is I really never pay attention to plant names. I just wanted to say I'd plant some really bushy aquatic plants at the back and let them grow right out of the water. I'll take some pics of some I have here tomorrow and show you what I mean. I thought that might help you with your "drop off" problem like you were saying

I love the look of the tank!. I would put Fire Bellied toads in there. The problem with darts is the water area and the temp is a little high for many species. Darts are very poor swimmers and drown easily. Great viv. The right animal will be very happy in there.

Hey Rainfrog! Haven't heard from you in a little while.

I agree about FBTs in there, they would do very well in this setup.

EDIT: I would also ignore those dial gauges and buy a digital one. The Acurite one from Wal-mart is very reliable, and it has a probe. They also have one that is white, and it doesn't have a probe. I think the white one would be perfect, since you don't need to measure a basking temp. Both of the ones from Wal-mart measure temps AND humidity.

I think it looks great. I have a few questions. Your pump under your false bottom is it just for the water feature no filtration. Do you have access to the pump? What is the hole in the background on the bottom left. And is the pump on the right a filter if so what kind is it. Again I think it looks really nice. I tore down my 30 gallon so I'm looking for some new ideas for it.

p.s. you can mount those broms on the back wall pretty easy. In fact you could probably switch the plant in the top right with the brom and you would keep the same look and your brom would be healthier.
