I think you probably could spray it without the straw, but it would probably come out WAY to fast and make a mess. It IS, however, very easy to get the GS out of the straw. All you have to do is find something rigid that is thin enough to fit through the straw, and slide the GS out of the straw (pull the straw off the trigger part first). If the trigger part is clogged too, push the GS out of it as well (you may need something that will bend, but is still fairly rigid, if that makes any sense). Make sure you shake the can a little longer than you would if it is a fresh can, that way it will still dispense properly. I have done this several times with great success.

Metal coat hanger should work. As for shaking longer than normal, this is a must!! Also, if you use two or more cans at the same time, use the same straw. Then save the new ones for later in case you need them.

I believe they change color slightly depending on stress levels. Kind of like Anoles (Not green anoles versus brown anoles). I could be wrong so don't quote me on this.

or just prevent the straw from filling up with GS by using the can not upside down. It will make some of the gaz get out and push all the GS left in the straw. Doing this at the end of usage will not deplete your gaz and usually leaves the straw clear of any blockage.

It is male.female.unknown . There is actually a thread about it in Off Topic, I believe. Well, not entirely about it, but it was asked and answered. Got to learn how to use that search button! (just poking fun at you!)
Green tree frogs turn brown when they are stressed, or cold. And sometimes to blend in a little better, but usually it is one of the other two.
