Default 55g to big for 4 D. Auratus?

Well I have an empty 55 Gallon tank, standard size, tempered glass. Im having trouble deciding whether to move my Python into the 55 (his size is not sufficient to require this) and make a VIV out of the 29g or make a cool big PDF Viv out of the 55g. I like the size to be able to work with, I have 2 large wood pieces I would like to use and could only use one in the 29g. if I put the snake in the 55g Ive got to figure out how to keep him in which means most likely building 2 screen tops and installing latches and hinges. I Have a huge roll of fiberglass window screen but with the snake I would want to use metal screen so he could not push through it(better safe than: sorry, I cant find my snake) with PDFs I would make simple tops with part glass and part fiberglass screen. I would be getting Costa Rican Green and Blacks most likely. would a 55g be too big for a group of 4 D. auratus ? I may get more eventualy but I would start with 4 from Saurian Enterprises or a local show (I could not belive the deals at the last show I went to, Amazonicus for $35!) I plan on seeding it with Springtails and letting it grow in for some time. I wont have the frogs for months yet, I just need to make sure My viv wont be to big. I know it will take a lot of flies for a tank this size but I intend to perfect fly culturing over the next few months.
