Default paludariam- need ideas!!

I have a 180 gallon that I want to make into a paludarium but I am running into a few obsticles. First off, I need to use the divider method, since one side of the aquarium has a leak in it. I see that most people use plexi-glass to seperate the land and water. My problem is that this is an old DAS tank, and the bottom of the tank is not a regular 90 degree angle, it goes down the side glass, then comes out about a half inch and joins the plastic bottom and then goes down about a half inch. I hope you can understand what I mean. Its kind of like a rim on the bottom, like a stair-step. How could I seperate this? I tried using pond liner, but found that it was really hard to join to the glass. Any ideas?

Yeah, I did post this on AC and this site at the same time. Just trying to get as many options as possible. AC and monster fish keepers are my usual forums. They must have a much larger member base because I get way more replies on those sites. Fiberglass does seem to be the way to go. But, I am not handy, at all. I want to hire someone to do it for me. We have a local mister-fix-it and I'm thinking of calling him up. I just don't think I can measure it correctly and don't know how to silicone it on.

in my opinion this is the best way. you can use the full bottom of the tank; and still use just as much if not more land area.

Whoa! I am smack off my feet on your tank!! Fish and the emerald boa (I think that what it is?) makes the tank eye popping! Does he ever get into the water? The snake? I have no idea about that species.
