Today I worked on my new vivarium and its finally finished, the tank is a 16gal high.
I collected the rocks from a local stream to make the water fall and I grabbed a few ferns I saw along with some different kinds of moss. I have two plants I bought from a pet shop a few months ago but i have no clue what they are. One grew so tall it out grew the tank, so I just trimmed it.
The tank is currently housing my leopard gecko-gwen and a giant stone fly nymph I caught at the stream.
Hope the pictures I attached worked.
Oh Im also wondering if there is any fellow reefers on this site or does most every one here stick with vivariums/reptiles/amphibians?
Hi Spazizz, nice looking tank and gecko welcome to the forum.
I'm not sure what reefers do so i'm not sure if i am one... ( don't think i am ) lol

Reptile Rescue and hard core reefer here.
FWLR 55 gal. Naso Tang, Coral Beauty, Cinnimon Clown, 6 line wrasse, and lots of Soft corals.
Seems like a very moist environment for a leopard gecko. Most love desert settings. Let me know how it goes. Most LG's don't like pools of water, some drip ok though. Interesting..
Leopard gecko... no, I don't beleive so. Like oceansh said, Leos love desert settings. It would be too moist. Mostly people just put a moist hide and that is it. They need dry setting too.
I think that fits a type of newt or salamander (I really dont have no experience, so correct me if I am wrong)... most definetely FBT though.
I think you should try to research on some pet amphibians that can swim, climb, and love moisture.
Overall, I love the tank. I wish I was that talented, and it is your first time!!

Well i figured since most of the time geckos are under ground where its moist and soil is present the envirment would be suitable. She spend most of her time under the log any ways. I plan on replacing her though(she'll move to a different tank) and possible getting a white dumpy tree frog cuz i like that they fat and they have very tame attitudes. Or dwarf chameleons(they could drown though, but i could make the pool shallower) Or poison dart frogs...
Im hoping my tank is stable enough to last a few years.
When i was talking about reefing I was referring to salt water aquariums and such. Keeping salt water and reptiles/amphibians are my favorite things.
Dumpty Tree frogs need at least a 29 gallon and that is just one dumpty tree frog.
Charmeleons need something way bigger than a 16g high, but darties are something to put in mind though. (I don't know much of darties either), but making the water shallower, it would be perfect, I would beleive for darties to thrive.
I don't really think there're salt water reptiles/amphibians or one that will fit in a 16g high.
Good luck!

I Keep leopards and Have to agree this is not an ideal environment. Leos need humidity around 50% no higher than 70% an thats pushing it. you are asking for lung problems in that much wet. Also what is the temperature? Leos need temps in the 80s with basking spots of up to 95 in the day and above 65 to 70 at night. if they dont have these temps they cannot digest or process food and vitamins properly.
Beautiful viv though. I agree with Ajax on the Fire Bellied Toads. If you like them I would get 2 or 3 and put them in there.

Very nice Vivarium! I also have a saltwater tank thats got fish and corals and inverts. I am making my Vivarium also. Its going to be a 10 gallon tank and its going to be for 2 dart frogs. Im thinking of making a water fall too, thats if mine works.
