Default Cleaning

What the general plan is is to make a 30% land area with 70% land. Very simple for my first viv, but here is the question!

How would you go about cleaning the viv when it is clear that you just cant lug it over to the sink and doing a monthly rock/tank/water cleaning?

This viv is going to have beginner real plants and a beginner structure, so a land area is going to be plexi-glassed in.

I have a sucker to suck the water out. and I could fish the rocks out for a monthly cleaning of the water area, but what about the land area?

I just would want a general answer to cleaning a viv.

Thanks guys!

I have given alot of thought to this lately and I have come to the conclusion that instae of using plexi to close an area off find a plastic tub that is the size you want disguise it and blend it into the background. whan you need to beep clean just pull it out. it is more involved than just dropping it in there you need to be sure your critters cant get where you dont want them or get stuck. inside the tub make a drainage layer to keep roots healthy and keep the swamp at bay. I havent tried it but The theory seems sound.

I never really though about that. Does sound like a pretty good idea.

Sorry, but I am starting to pull questions out of my head. lol

How would you think I would disguise it and blend it in to the background though?

How would you make a drainage layer?

As for the drainage I would make small holes in the bottom and lower sides of the container. put an inch or 2 of leca in the bottom cover with screen or weed barrier and put my coco bedding over that.

To hide it you can silicon rocks, gravel, or even coco bedding to it. if it is a little taller than the depth of your water you can make ramps out of wood and rocks. let your imagination run wild and get crazy with it. If you wanted to you could even use smaller containers to make ledges and raised areas.
