Agamidae Architect is a jewel in the rough
Default Hey everybody

Allow me to introduce myself! I have cared/owned reptiles all of my life and i think this forum is a great idea. I currently own a chinese water dragon and an australian frilled lizard. I am also a landscape architecture student which comes in handy when dealing with vivariums. My Vivarium is pretty different from the usual but i find that it fits my lizard's needs perfectly. Here are a few pictures i will try to explain it the best i can.

The design idea randomly came to me one morning when i woke up and spotted some unused rubbermaid containers that happend to fit eachother perfectly. From there i built a box frame, stained the wood, added some caging from HD and all of the smaller stuff. The top A frame was added later with some spare steaks i had laying around lol. Feel free to ask questions or input constructive criticism but i will probably start another
thread on it.

Thanks!! -scotty

Pretty cool! Do you find it difficult to maintain the humidity with the screening? For some reason I have a hard time keeping the humidity up in my 40G glass tank... Especially now that I am working on the topper and have more airflow.

Welcome to the forum. I think you'll be a good addition. We need more plant folks around here.

The humidity in the lower end stays around 60% in the day time and 65+ at night. I have an airpump and 2 airstones hooked up and i have to mist 2-3 times daily (which is the downside) so it isnt too bad. Not to mention my elevated stream/waterfall which i forgot to include pics of.

Because i am keeping 2 different species in the same habitat, i had to adjust for both so the upper end tends to be less humid and warmer for the australian frilled wereas my CWD loves to hang around the lower end of the cage unless he's basking. This was my first vivarium and it was more of a shoot and miss build as you go type experiment. I will definetly go for atleast a closed 3 sided enclosure next time when i build my new lizard eden in January.(for higher humidity AND so the babies feel more secure).

Thanks for the welcome i hope to learn and input a great deal into this website.
