Here are some pics of my firebelly newt, Cynops orientalis. Cute little bugger ain't he? or maybe you can tell me if its a girl or a boy. I should know this by now :roll:

Oh how cute! I miss my newts!!
Males have more swollen cloaca, and when in breeding condition they develop a purplish sheen to their tails. Females are often plumper when viewed from above.

She is still around and about. Not aquatic at all. Always on top of the vegetation. Thanks for the info.

If she starts to act wierd, like hiding, or if other newt are being violent to her by her neck and dragging her tio places, you'll know that she is giving birth pretty soon.
