i would also merge the section vivarium, terrarium and paludarium into 2 new rethinked section: Habitats (wich would gatter building information and such) and Animal care (for everything related to animals kept in our hobby).

I don't think there is a really good reason to keep terrarium and paludarium separeted since they have the same sub topics and are pretty close to being the same thing.

All this would be to condensate the posts, making it more visible, looking more alive, making it more attractive to poster, bring more posting and, in the end, bringing more knowledge.

But i also think that we, as members, need to do our part. Mainly on articles, tutorials and stickies. For exemple, if we want a sticky for vivarium building, we need to post a well informed, nicely documented subject and ask for a sticky for it. Then the community can agree or not on the sticky. The rest will be moderation work.

I agree tiamat.

I think we should make a Terrarium/Vivarium sticky.

Sorry boys and girls. I've been mainly absent from this forum and most of my time was spent nurturing my day job, family and business ...and some other, websites that I run. This one fell through the cracks a bit. I will spend some time next week and spruce things up. Keep this thread going. I see this forum has finally gotten some life. We can start bringing in some needed updates and mods. Keep noting the pet peeves and annoyances, that's the only way they will get fixed.

Thanks for getting in on this one Marty. We all have busy lives and do alot of posting for fun/entertainment. I am sure we can come up with a few viable option and solution to make this a great site (not that it isn't already) Another thing might be to purge old user who have not posted in over X months. "X" being at either your discretion or a site agreed up vote. See I am coming up with these and not even try. Thanks everyone for the ideas so far.

I would really like to see a cricket section under Insects/Arthropods. It's been mentioned before in the forums and struck me as a really fantastic idea. It's a very widely used food source for the various herps vivarium owners keep. Lumping FF and Mealworms and various other food items might be advisable. I am personally curious about the benefits/drawbacks of various food items that other people may have stumbled upon in their experience.

I definitely agree that there should be a "Feeder Insects" category, which would then be broken up into the different types of feeders for posting. For now, I can go through the posts relevant to feeder insects, merge them, and stick them. Unfortunately, it is not in my power to add, move, merge, or delete categories, so we'll have to wait for Marty to do that one. Unless he wants to grant me the power, lol.
