An inflammatory title, I know... But feel free to rant!
You response could be about people (no one specific please), the way the site works, or things you would like to see on the site that aren't there.
The thing that irritates me the most is someone asking for the same advice over and over again, completely disregarding the advice they have received for the same question over and over again. Really, you only need to ask your question once, and if you are going to do whatever you want anyway (without taking the advice into consideration), at least say so when you ask the question, or don't ask the question at all. This especially irks me when it is a new herper, who didn't even bother to research their new pet before they bought it (which most of us have been guilty of at some point), and then they act like they know better than people with years of experience. No one knows everything, but we should take other people's experience and add it to our own, so that we can truly learn what is best for our pets.
FYI: this is not directed at any one person, but an accumulated sort of irritation.

I've visited this forum on an off since I've been interested in vivariums. This website is very eye pleasing, which makes it even more of a surprise when I find that this site is hard to navigate. The yellow "Vivarium" link on the forum frontpage is dead, it leads to "page not found". There is also a complete lack of useful stickies. As a newbie to many different interests, this is usually the first place I go to so I don't have to ask questions that have been answered before. I would also like to see a sticky for people's favorite vivariums so there could be a freer exchange of ideas. I think just solving these basic issues would be a huge improvement. In the past, I've found DendroBoard to be a better resource for vivariums, which is kind of sad.
froggsong, I agree with that. People need to learn about the search button as well.
::looks around frantically:: 'there's a search button?!?!'

Aw what the heck, I was going to avoid this thread but.....
One, only one, of my pet peeves is a person who gives out advice to beginners that is not completely safe for the animals. Granted many of us with more experience can get away with things because we know what warning signs to look for so we can change semi safe or unsafe conditions before they prove harmful but the beginners generally lack the experience to pick up on subtle signs before it is too late.
Ok, a second pet peeve is people who do not use spell check. ROTFLMBO
I thought everyone had Microsoft Word or a similar intelligent program with a built in spell check.
The only reason I hate bad spelling is because I am the world’s worst speller.
With MS Word I can even spell Antidisestablishmentarianism.

No, Future, it wasn't directed at you. There have been many many people that come on the site and completely ignore any advice anyone gives them, or even laugh at their pet being sick! I just can't understand that, and it annoys me to no end.
I understand now that all you are trying to do is get clarification, but after many people tell you the same thing, it is hard not to wonder how much clarification you need.
I say we start over entirely, ok? I don't want either one of us to be annoyed by the other, it is totally pointless. This is a place to share ideas, and learn from other people's mistakes and successes. Not a place for people to argue. So, can we be friends?

I agree with the lack of stickies, I have found some good terrariums/construction threads before and either forgot to bookmark them or whatever, and now can't find them again.
I think people are quick to tease or criticize on this forum, but it usually seems to be in a light hearted way, but it so easy to misconstrue tone in text.
It also bothers me that there is an articles section with no articles in it. They are all questions that should be in the forum.
I think Some of us should submit some real articles, especially about quarantining or putting together basic setups, or listing links to more advanced setups and construction threads.

I agree, strange_screams. The site needs an overhaul, including better organization. Some things are going to have to be done by those with the power to do them, and some things can be done by us regular members. Maybe we can start a thread with some topics for articles, and people can pick one and write it up.
