Default Plants in Canada

Hello,

So I've encountered a hitch with the planting stage of my terrarium. Black Jungle doesn't ship to Canada! Doh!

Can anyone tell me of a company that has a similar selection up here in the Great White North?

Thanks!

Im in Calgary. As far as what Im looking for, not entirely sure...ill have to read through these forums and make a list of what to look for.

There were 2 plants Im thinking might be difficult to find tho. Moss and this aquatic plant that looks like a bunch of tiny lillypads...i think its called duckweed or duckgrass or something like that...

OMG i'm in edmonton! go to Home Depot, it's cheap and they've got a bunch of good plants. moss-i don't know-sometimes a pet store-they sell this stuff "plant and grow".lol. duckweed you can get for free from a pet store or garden centre. if you pay anything for it, they're ripping you off. could you post some pics of your viv?

thanks, good luck!

hawaiian botanical is located in Richmond. BC(near vancouver). There website is www.hawaiianbotanicals.com
They carry a good selection Of bromeliads, although they are a little pricey.

Neways the best way to find something you are looking for is find a group of people who are already in that hobby.. Not only us herp hobbyist have internet forums, on the net there are a bunch of forums for bromeliad hobbysit. So the easiest way of finding cheap broms (in ure area) and advice on how to take care of them is to become a member in one such forums (try the big ones though) and ask for info. Thats how i found the lady in my area and man iam telling you she gave me those broms so cheap that they were practically free.

It depends on what kind of vivarium you are building. If its gonna be tropical ,well then you can put different bromeliads (Neoregelias is what i prefer), snake plant, a few variety of ferns, ivy, creeping fig and pothos together....These plants generally do good in high humidiry.
Secondly it also depends on what animal you are putting in it too.

BTW where in Canada are you from ?
