Make sure your momma doesnt eat her babies. When the babies stay with the mom too long... the mom eats them. It is mostly a signal that need to be let free since momma is signaling them to go make a life for them self and to get off her back! lol.

I wondered about that. I've been feeding them about 10 pinheads and a little larger each day. I was told the mother secretes something from her back that they will "eat" while they're still on her. So if they're not on her anymore, I should move her to another enclosure?

I think that is influenced in part by food availability.

On th eother hand, though they can be kept 'socially', I've always read 'similar sized'.

Tikichick That's awsome. I don't keep scorpions anymore but what chance to end up with a a hatching mom. Great stuff.

WOW tikichick, I was thinking how great the little enclosure you made was, and then you popped up with those babies! That is SO COOL! That was an awesome chance. I bet they are pretty cool to watch.

I need to stop reading the arthropods pages, lol.... There is no way I am keeping any critters like this that aren't feeders, but they look so cool I want some!

Tiki, Can scorpians reproduce asexually?

Or was the scorpian with a male scorpian before you found her by chance?
