Ive Got An All Glass Tank Thats 6ft, Do I Have To Tape The Heat Mat To The Back Ov The Tank For A Corn Snake ? Cus Thats Wat The Bloke From My Local Pet Shop Recons. I Thought They Got Heat Through Their Underside, Hence Why They Bask On Hot Roads. Ive Done My Research And My P/shop Owner Sed Its All Wrong. I dont use a heating pad for anything. You can set up a hide at a higher elevation in the tank and use a basking bulb. Take a temp reading from the bottom midrange and top section of the tank with a bulb and build your hide at the proper daytime temp. snakes only bask on the road because some arse put it there. if it where a rock in a clearing in place of the road he would be there. You can also use wood as i have in one tank. my corns will climb up to bask
