no biggie, i would also like to add a couple more links and further clear some things up. i figured eventually i'd have to deal with this anyway as like i've stated so many times before there are MANY misconceptions with redtails.

so as you can see not only are the locales where most "true bcc's" come from bordering and very close to columbia, but there is a small area in columbia where bcc's actually come from. since i've seen the entire litter with exception of i think 2 that were sold before i got there i can say without a doubt pj was one of the darkest in the litter, but his red was very bold as well as dark and i didn't want anything gawdy. there are also tell tale signs like the fact that i have friends that have b.c.i.'s and although they seem to grow at the same rate for a little while there's a huge difference at about age 1-2 yrs being the bci although it gets a little smaller usually at full size will be much larger than a bcc when young.
there seems to be a big stink about this in the hobby, but the truth is that even though over 90% of boas coming from columbia are bci there are bcc's down there, it's just where you look.
considering his color you cannot deny he's from columbia... considering his mothers size i'd say bcc is inevitable. i guess one could speculate that he may be a VERY dark suriname, but with the knowledge the kid had that bred him i doubt he'd be duped too easily. also being there was 90+ in the litter there is no question on the b.c.c.. regardless he is columbian as this is where his parents were obtained from whether it is an accurate description of species or not.
i hope that helps... i appreciate your interest and wanting to know the truth as so many just regurgitate what they've "heard" as gospel.
