I've had folks ask me if my pueblan ever bites and she has once or twice -- both times my fault. Next Q is, of course, "Did it hurt?" My response is to ask them if they've ever been scratched by a rose bush or other thorny plant. When they inevitably say "yes", I tell them the thorns hurt more. That always seems to amaze them.

HAHA, yeah snakes bites aren't that bad as long as they aren't venomous. I have been bite by so many snakes, that it doesn't even bother me. I like to go snake hunting, so I have been bite plenty of times.
Only really one thing to remember when bitten by a snake. Don't jerk away. They will slice you open if you do. Well if the snake is big enough that is. I named a Boa Slash because he slashed me wide open when I jerked my hand away. What kind of snake you got? I don't have any right not, but when I move, I plan on getting into them again. I do have 5 baby Tarantulas though.

I dont personally keep snakes, but I do catch,(and then release somewhere safe), All the larger snakes around my neighborhood. There are TONS of them, and dozens of species can be found here without even trying. However, every time I get bitten by something over 18 inches, it hurts A LOT and I end up bleeding nonstop for half an hour. I've probably been bitten more than 100 times this past year. And for those that don't know, getting bit by a large snake feels like gettin snagged on 20 or so fish hooks at the same time.
The following picture(if it loaads) should be three brown water snakes succesfully chewing my right arm off. And NO they're not venemous.

i think i'll have to respectfully disagree whybother. my pj is over 6' long and the last time he got me was in the face. it bled straight into the next day but as for pain... it was more of a shock than a pain. the shock never goes away.

one thing i will say is the most painful snake bite i've ever had was from a water snake of some kind as a child down south. maybe it was just because i was a kid and not expecting it though... who knows.

graham (froggy's snappy lil guy) is a python regius.

Why thank you beck. And here I thought I would have to point to my siggy.

Sorry I haven't gotten that thread for the tank done yet. I've been working alot and it's much more of a hassle to upload pics now that I have to use the cell phone for a modem. It's just far slower than the cable internet we use to have. I'm going to bed soon, but if I get up early enough, I'll try to get it done later today (I'm working night shifts right now, I didn't get off until 5am this morning... YAY 11hr shift!). I have to upload pics one at a time... So slow and SOOOOO tedious.
