Thanks. It has been fun working on. I have developed a problem I just discovered. I had been hand misting so I decided to get an automatic mist system. So I was going to install it yesterday and noticed a bit of water in front. I figured it was from my hand misting but when I went to wipe it up I discovered that the bottom, which is actually the side of the aquarium had cracked and the water was leaking out. Well, you can imagine how hard it was to remove the waterlogged piece of wood that the bottom was sitting on.

But I did get it removed and have it sitting on blocks to dry some. Then I need to figure out how to place a new new watertight bottom on it without taking it totally down. Any suggestions would be welcome. This thing probably weighs close to 300 pounds.

I will take a picture today. It is growing well. I have had a few plants not take but not many. Most have done well. It's turned into mostly orchids.

Note to self--double seal bottom of aquarium to be used for new vivarium!! VBG

I hope you figure out a way to redo the bottom without too much trouble, Harry! I'll be hoping to learn something from you!

Likewise. I'm looking forward to seeing some updated pics when you get a chance. Maybe a couple of shots that might help me to choose plants for my own design

that is fantastic harry... it is really turning out well. amazing although i would love to see some reptiles in there. sniff sniff... you're breaking my heart. seriously though harry you have a talent. you should make some things and sell them to unsuspecting herpers for a little spare cash.

Sorry for not responding earlier. Thanks for the comments and I wish I could build and sell some things like this here but there just isn't much call for it here.

It's a cool hobby though and I wish I could put a herp in there also but then I would have to make it escape proof and feed it. Been there, done that, 30 years ago. No more.

Once an 8 foot African Rock Python fell into my bedroom from the exposed beams above the bed. We heard a 'plop' and turned the light on to see a VERY pissed snake a few feet from my wife. She wasn't amused and actually neither was I since he was not a nice snake.

there are other forums... if you get to enough (aquariacentral is a good start) YOU could do it.

that must have been horrifying... glad you're still here to showcase your amazing talents.

anyway, i don't blame you at all... that's a lot of work to give to someone who's gonna kill it... even at a hefty price... it just breaks my heart that's all.

this is just beyond amazing!! I have been eyeing my 55 gallon trying to decide what to do with it. I'm now thinking vertical of course. Is there anything structually that I should do to the tank or would it be sturdy enough on it's own when turned up? ( I can see brackets to make sure it doesn't turn over)
