Its all good howeshort, you decided not to get this horrible stuff after his first post,..my how opinions have changed and most likely not due to my comments. I post fast sometimes before my lady comes in asking why I am waisting my time on the forum, so I rush and say stupid things. I think its fun to debate and if some people take offense then sorry, I just get bored I guess.
I would like to end our debate with a desclaimer, whey will kill your geckos and rot their teeth out first so those who believed beck he is right it is horribly dangerous, it is and don't touch it yourself. lol peace out!
you don't seem to know any other way about this but going over the edge do you??? a little more research and digging a little deeper would net you a better understanding of the whole picture... fact is animals actually need these other ingredients that makes an excess of protein dangerous to some animals... i will not use whey myself for fear of putting another animal through what i went through... if the diet provided is not correctly balanced in many other ways you can easily introduce these factors or if the body is in some ways not doing it's job right it can produce the same results... remember dosing calcium is recommended for most reptiles... this can still be dangerous... i agree financially it may be the best move for him, but he also has a business liability... i see where your years of success and pride sway you to one direction, but 1 misinformed product and or supplement added to the most perfect whey can spell disaster... and yes steroids of the right kind taken moderately and intermittently can be safer than overdosing with proteins in many cases... not everyone can be sure the rest of an animals dietary needs are met correctly so this can be tricky... be careful regardless.
ps... it took me 12 years to show any symptoms. do your geckos last that long?
reading your other websites??? what websites??? you have provided a link to one and mentioned another... are there more... what is the other??? i don't even know your second website!
lol your the everpost bunny. I would say where is the proof your issues are 100% related to protein but I too tired to even finish your post...good night bro and sorry you have health issues, I have high blood sugar issues and my lady has scleroderma/lupus...both of our issues diet related most likely and diet is very important more so than ever in our lives.
Ok the protein in your blood points to kidney as the issue, but does not tell your doctor "protein" intake caused this...actually he would look at high blood pressure and diabetes then hardening before anything...so the question was, how do you know it was related to your whey protein consumption? And did your doctor say this?
Come, come guys... Can't we all get along? Debate is one thing, but arguing is not appropriate. I will close the thread without further thought if the insults and finger pointing continue.

I am sorry froggsong, I just can't say "your right" when I know the persons information is not right. I did get off on the wrong foot with an untactful first post, but I was in shock over the opinion and later tried to say I was sorry. Honestly I tried to get out of the debate but questions and more personal information with exagerated truths made me feel sort of antagonized back into the debate all because there was anger still over my first post. This will be my last post in this thread, I love the site, geckosunlimited turned me onto it and I will show more tact in my future posts and try to keep my beliefs to myself...I will come on to observe and learn, no sharing you can say.
on the contrary, there are 11 proteins the human body makes for itself, 9 that need supplemented through digestion. there were more than that in any whey on the market and i found with consultation of my doctor with records and labels in hand and noticed the ones high in whey that the body does not utilize freely or efficiently were the ones in excess in my blood stream... whey contains more than nine regardless... my kidneys are sensitive for some reason... i used to be allergic to milk... and not the usual allergies... i may still be, but doctors only test for certain things milk contains... there's alot we still don't know!
once again sorry i was such a jerk (everyone).
bowfinger... i look forward to getting to know you on different terms at another time on another discussion... i felt provoked also, and there were a few personal jabs, but who cares. i can get over it.
I think that is quite enough on the subject. No further justification of your reasons is necessary.
That said, Hewe, a great source of protein for your cricket feed that I have had great results with is Orijen dog food. It has no vegetable proteins or grains, and is made from Human grade meats (I think they use hormone free meats as well). My dog did wonderfully on it, and the crickets did very well too. My herps were very active when I was using the batch with that in it. I can't get it in the area and don't want to order online, so I can't use it atm. Blue Buffalo makes a line of foods that is similar but contains a grain. Blue Buffalo is sold at PetSmart, so you might be able to find it more easily. Another food that I have used with success in my cricket feed (and also for my dog), is By Nature. I believe they use only human grade meats as well, though I could be wrong. That one has alot of good ingredients, including fruits. I don't recall the name if the one I am using currently, it was a new one I tried for my dog when we moved here and I couldn't find the one I was using for a little while. It does pretty good, not as good as the others, but it is a good quality food. I would be really careful using something like Nutro or any of the walmart brands, even alot of the "good" brands are full of bad crap. I know that a herp doesn't have the same nutritional needs as a dog, but if it's bad for my dog, I'm not feeding it to my herp feeders.
Anyway, that's a bit off-topic for this thread (though not entirely), so I'll leave it at that.
