Default Looking for Cheap Medium LECA

Petsmart is carrying the ZooMed Hydroton balls, or LECA, Aliflor, etc. for 9.99 for approx 4 qt. right now, that seems like the cheapest source, without waiting for a reptile show. I don't remember reptile show prices, since I wasn't in the market for LECA when I last went.

Including shipping to 08753, I'd be looking for a source charging less than 9.99 per 4 dry quarts. Any sources????

Well my friend, if orchid board has't already told you ...everything. Your local hydrophonics shop is the best source both in price and quantity. If you don't have one, check the local hardware store's garden section.(its always cheapest to buy locally, unless it's anything from a pet store)

ok, I'm now flabbergasted. I did NOT know that orchid board and this one were so linked!!! LOL Can one say NOOOOOOB! How does it do that???

Hydroponics store, hmmm, I'm not familliar with any here in the Toms River area. Medical marijuana just was approved in NJ, so I'm guessing that supplies might become quite available soon?

Has anyone used packing peanuts instead of Hydroballs? If so, what were the results? If not, I'm willing to experiment, what data regarding the use of peanuts instead would others like me to track?

No, I meant ME noob, I still don't understand the RSS feed thing, but I'll figure it out.

Looked for Hydro supply shops and only found one kind of out west and a couple up north. Any good recommendations?

i think it might be worth a call to these couple places since they're relatively close to you. if you'll want a good bunch of things it might be worth taking a ride into the camden/philly area or near the burlington bristol bridge right off of route 130. there is a whole lot in those areas.

DISCLAIMER: new jersey does things quite differently than most places. i, honestly have no idea what these stores will have. the one store is apparently an ice cream store and a florist but they sell hydro kits also. for that reason i think it's worth a call. don't ask me why an ice cream store would also be a florist. ::scratches head vigorously:: i have no idea on that question. also, i live in pa so have not visited any of these stores since i have more than i'd need locally.

check out your phone book and google maps for more info. i found 85 hits on google maps (i did have to click the link for see more results though). some were unrelated and others would be quite a drive. you'll have to weed through things but you'll find phone numbers and info that's relevant to help before you just go on a journey.

happy hunting and good luck.
