You can keep him on a paper towel substrate, and dab triple antibiotic ointment on it a few times a day. Be sure its the kind without pain killers. Once it heals up, you can let him go in a safer location.

I also came across an injured green frog this weekend. His front left leg is badly dammaged.

Default My poor toad

Dude is doing a little better. I've been putting neosporan on his wound It looks like its healing. I don't think I'm going let the guy go. hes got lots of scares on him. Just a guess hes old 4 or 5 years, real dark in color not like the juvenile on that I have, and hes very large almost 5in long sitting. thanks Mike.Wolfkill

Mine's still alive too. Stopped eating though. Here's a pic. Yes that's the bone sticking out. Yikes!

Not good looking looks infected I would take him to a vet. My Northen Toad is doing better and eating theres no infection it had just happened to the day I fond him. Lucky toad all pink flesh and some bones The toad in my opinan is a much more hardy than a bull frog. good luck with him

It's a green frog, but they do look similar. I'm using polysporin also and yeah it looks bad. I'm sure he'd be dead now if I hadn't picked him up. We'll see how he does.

Question

What are those guys just a little smaller than bull frog? I think pretty close to one another in the same family as the bull frog not sure though. my toads doing ok losing weight not eating. I fond yet another wound on him about to days ago
I didn't notice this until I filped him over and pulled his other leg out and found a long gash in the cress of his body where leg and body met . This poor toad got shot out a golf ball return or something at the putt putt range that I found Him at. None of its infected but its a lot wounds on such a small animal. Well just see how it goes for him with neosporan. I might take him to a vet if it dosent get better in a day or two. I know they give Battarill to turtles and it works really well what do they give to toads and frogs?
Thanks Mike.wolfkill

Yeah Green frogs are much smaller than bullfrogs. They look similar though. Green frogs have a pair of ridges going down the back. That's what distinguishes them from Bullfrogs. They aren't as aggressive either.

Best advice would be to call a vet. Batarill sounds familiar but concerning antibiotics and how much to give, better to speak to a professional, I think.

How's it doing? Still fighting the good fight?
